Jarod Dickson is the host of the popular Millennial Economics podcast - a podcast dedicated to helping young people be successful with money.
Jarod started his financial journey at an early age. He decided to forgo college to start his career in sales right out of high school. With the increase in income came an increase in options on how to spend that money.
Jarod soon found himself deep in debt. He owed money on cars, furniture, credit cards, personal loans, and much more. He also found himself with no knowledge about investing, so little so that he didn’t even know what a 401k was (he cashed his out twice!).
The weight of this debt and lack of financial goals drove him to begin reading books, listening to podcasts, and watching YouTube videos about how to become financially successful. He wanted to control his finances and not have his finances control him. From this knowledge grew a passion to not only get a grasp on how to manage his own finances but to also teach others the same.
Jarod started the Millennial Economics podcast in September of 2020 and finds himself writing, talking, and coaching about how to become financially fit.
Jarod has experience becoming debt-free, investing in the stock market, investing in real estate, dabbling in cryptocurrency, and much more. He continues to pursue what wise personal financial management looks like and is passionate about finding the balance between saving/investing and spending/giving.
Jarod is a firm believer that good money management isn’t just about understanding the math behind how to be successful, but rather it is also about learning to navigate the psychology behind what it takes to be successful.
